Xiangfeng Duan（段镶锋）26岁

背景：1992-1997 中国科大 学士；1998-2002 哈佛大学 博士

现就职：Nanosys

Yu Huang （黄昱）27 岁

背景：1994-1999 中国科大 学士；1999-2003 哈佛大学 博士

现就职：麻省理工 博士后

Peidong Yang（杨培东） 32岁

背景：1988-1993 中国科大 学士；1993-1997 哈佛大学 博士

现就职：加州大学 伯克利分校 Assi Porf

另外两位入选者分别是南京大学和清华医学院的鲍哲南和刘湘军。

《技术评论》杂志创刊于1899年，在全球拥有100多万读者和用户，他们绝大多数为经济富裕成年实业家或管理者。这次是该杂志第三次评选世界100位年轻发明家。他们聘请专家小组，分计算机、生物技术、互联网、纳米技术等领域，从全球范围内的大学、公司、国立研究所和其它研发机构寻找候选人(35岁以下，截止2003年1月)，评选出最终的入选者。
