Dr. Zhang has research and teaching interests in the modeling, analysis and computation of competitive systems and equilibrium problems. Dr. Zhang is noted for his fundamental contribution to the theory of Projected Dynamic Systems, which has advanced the understanding of the dynamic behavior of many complex social and economic problems. His work has found substantial applications in spatial economics, transportation, supply chain management, environment, and regional planning problems. Dr. Zhang has more than thirty publications in scholarly books and international journals. His research has appeared in such journals as Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, European Journal of Operations Research, Transportation Science, Transportation Research, Networks, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and Annals of Regional Science.
