English Language Teaching Positions

The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), subordinate to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is a comprehensive national key university which emphasizes on the forefront areas of science and high and new technology but also includes science-and-technology-based management and humanity disciplines. It is an important base for scientific research and education of first-class talent. The University was founded in Beijing in September of 1958. The establishment was hailed as "An Event of Major Importance in the History of Chinese Education and Science". In the beginning of 1970, USTC was moved to Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. In 1999, USTC was singled out as one of the 9 universities enjoying priority support from the State’s "985 Project”.

USTC welcomes applications for native English language teachers. The appointments are for one academic year. The academic year runs from approximately September 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008.

Qualification:

▲ native speakers from the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand

▲ holders of a bachelor’s degree or above

▲ out-going and easy to get along with

▲ good at interpersonal skills, with a willingness to help others

▲ knowledgeable about current affairs, modern technologies, western culture, etc.

▲ experienced Internet users

▲ teaching experience is preferred

Benefits:

2. monthly salary; 30% may be paid in US Dollars

3. round-trip international flight tickets (economy class) upon a one-year contract between the teacher’s home point and the University
